Description
I would love to know the real story, but there was much going on that day. In this little village preparations were underway for a literacy ceremony in which two young men spoke in newly learned English. The chief of the village attended, as well as the residents. What a poignant picture. I love the absensce of colors.. Just, what sepia? it leaves the viewer focused on the subtlies of the shot. You wonder what holds his attention, distracted from his catch or find. sweet face. Beautiful photograph

I agree with Karen. Such a great portrait of this boy; yet, my heart aches for the bird. v/f

Wonderful portrait of a little boy in a land we (in America) cannot fathom. My heart cannot but ache for the little bird....this picture really holds a story...maybe a mystery that we will never know!...fav/v2
Ronda Broatch replied:
Judging by the gentleness I felt in the community, the bird was a little treasure to him. I wish I'd had more time there. Thanks, Karen~
