Thank you so much, Aurelio, Jeff, Kimberlee, Cristina, and Vivian. Interesting note: These are actually the seed heads of the Purple Salsify, and are the size of my fist. The tassels are light brown in color. They've captivated me for some days now, and I remembered today to take my camera to work to catch them. I'm tempted to take one home - to let the seeds go where they will.

Dandelion seed heads are so much fun and delightful to look at, blow at the seed head, and then watch the tiny seeds disperse into the air like tiny little helicopters! Rhonda, this is one of the best captures of a Dandelion Seed Head that I have seen! Love it! Fave!
