This gorgeous yellow and orange flower is "Gaillardia," and the variety is called Oranges and Lemons. It caught my attention, especially with the sun shining on it. Found in the garden of some friends on Orcas Island. The common name is Blanket Flower.

Ronda Broatch is the author of Shedding Our Skins, (Finishing Line Press, 2008), and Some Other Eden, (2005).
