I love this, Rhonda! I have never actually seen a marmot, but was commissioned to paint one last summer. Fortunately, I was given a selection of photos to work from! This one seems full of personality, and really cute, as was the one I chose to paint. At first I thougjt they were a variety of ground hog, which are very unwelcome in this area, but now that I have been introduced to marmots and painted one, I have to say I have developed an affection for them! Great composition. L

Thank you, Barbara! They really are amusing, and interesting to hear them whistle.
